Waxing Etiquette
The following applies primarily to body waxing.
Before your appointment… The week leading up to your waxing appointment, exfoliate and moisturize the area to be waxed a few times, especially if you’re getting your legs waxed. You’ll get a cleaner, longer lasting wax and help prevent ingrown hairs.
The day of your appointment… Please shower the morning of your appointment to remove any residue of body oils, sweat, sunscreen, etc… If your skin is very sensitive, taking an antacid a couple of hours before your appointment can reduce sensitivity and redness that sometimes occurs after waxing.
Hygiene for bikini waxing… You’ll probably feel more comfortable if you shower within a few hours before your appointment. However, this isn’t always possible or practical so I keep a stash of unscented wipes for you to freshen up if you need them. Waxing while on your period is fine, but it will probably increase your sensitivity. If you’re using a tampon while getting a brazilian or bare wax, simply tuck the string. And if it’s your first time, please don’t be shy or embarrassed about getting your bikini area waxed. RELAX! I’ve been waxing men and women for 20+ years and I’ve seen- and waxed- it all.
